Looking At Some of the Vols’ Staff Options

Butch Jones-1

A puzzle is impossible to put together without knowing if all the pieces are there or not.

That’s the current state of Tennessee’s coaching staff, which lost tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Mark Elder earlier this week as he moved on to be the head coach at Eastern Kentucky. And if Elder is the only piece that is gone, it should be a fairly straight-forward replacement for Butch Jones, who will need to just make one hire (or promotion) to have his staff back to capacity at nine.

But with multiple other assistants linked through various reports to other job openings and the carousel still spinning around the nation, there could be more pieces to move around. As things stand now, however, here are some options we believe Jones is looking at to make the staff complete again, though any day could bring new news that shakes it all up again.
