1. Tennessee vs. Michigan, Outback Bowl
Michigan sits at 8-2, but still has tough matchups with Penn State and Ohio State, so it’s reasonable to think that the Wolverines could be in play for a bowl like the Outback if they aren’t able to close well. Tennessee, meanwhile, might need to win out to have a strong case for a second consecutive trip to Florida, but it’s certainly within the realm of possibility as well. This would be a dream matchup for the bowl, the conferences, TV and just about everybody. These programs have mirrored each other in many ways over the past decade or so, and both hope they’re close to breaking through. They’ve only met one time – a 45-17 UT win in the 2002 Citrus Bowl – and this would be a fantastic matchup that we’d love to see.
