With the early signing period having arrived, the Vols are on their way to having four new basketball signees with the commitment of Grant Williams of Charlotte, N.C., on Friday morning.

The Vols signed two players – wing Jalen Johnson and point guard Jordan Bone – on Thursday, the first day of the fall signing period, and are now expected to officially add both Williams and the previously-committed forward John Fulkerson to the list of signees shortly.
Williams is a 6-foot-7, 235-pound power forward who brings the Vols some much-needed size on the interior. He averaged 18 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 2.7 assists as a junior last season, according to the Charlotte Observer. He chose Tennessee over an offer list that included Texas Tech, Rutgers, Boston College and others.
The Vols now either have signatures or commitments for four of the five open scholarships in the 2016 class as coach Rick Barnes will look to replace a senior-heavy roster in 2016-17.
