6. Will Ray Kasongo be eligible?
The Vols thought they might be getting more college-ready help from Kasongo, who comes to UT as a sophomore after playing a year at the College of Southern Idaho. Eligibility questions, however, have him sidelined indefinitely. Barnes was hopeful that the incoming duo of Kasongo and Alexander could provide the Vols some relief on the front line, but Alexander, who is more raw at this point, is all he’ll have for now to fortify a weak spot on the roster. Kasongo might not be a huge contributor this season even if he does become eligible, but the Vols would love to have him for depth and developmental purposes.
