10. Where will the Vols stack up in the possibly improved SEC?
SEC basketball still has somewhat of a stigma attached to it right now, but with Kentucky and Vanderbilt both poised to potentially make a run this year, the SEC could certainly take a step forward. LSU, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and Mississippi State are among the other programs that have struggled in recent years, but have made significant upgrades at coach and/or the roster and should be in a better position to compete. It’s difficult to say that the Vols are definitely worse than a lot of teams in the SEC, but on the flip side, it’s hard to say they’re a lot better. It could be a crazy year in the SEC with some unfamiliar names making some noise, and the Vols hope to come out in upper-half of it, but there’s a lot of work to do and a lot of questions to be answered.
