Running Backs
Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara looked unstoppable early and both ended with relatively productive evenings, combining for 160 total yards and a pair of touchdowns (both from Kamara). But as they were limited after that first quarter, so was the rest of the offense. After piling up 98 total yards on the ground in the first quarter, the Vols had just 55 the rest of the way. There wasn’t a ton of room for these guys late and they weren’t able to quite burst through the second level to land any huge plays against the worst rushing defense in the SEC. A lot of that goes on the offensive line, but all-in-all, this was a decent performance, but not the dominant look that many were expecting.
