2. QB Sheriron Jones
Jones has been firmly entrenched as the team’s third-string quarterback this year. The Vols hope they don’t have to play him at any point down the stretch because that would likely mean something has gone terribly wrong health-wise for Joshua Dobbs and Quinten Dormady in the next few weeks. Jones has shown good zip on his passes in practice, impressive athleticism and has clearly shown why he was a coveted four-star prospect coming out of high school. Jauan Jennings’ move to receiver opened up some space at QB, but, for now, Jones might still be a couple years away from having a legitimate shot at winning a starting job with some stiff competition coming in as well.
