Four current Tennessee commitments were named Mr. Football Semifinalists in the state of Tennessee on Thursday.
Linebacker Daniel Bituli (2016) of Nashville Christian School was named a semifinalist in the Division I, Class A Lineman category, joining Brentwood Academy offensive lineman Ryan Johnson (2016), who is on the list for the Division II, Class AA Lineman category.
And while Vol fans will be able to see those two play in Knoxville as soon as next year, a couple future class commitments were honored as well. Receiver Tee Higgins of Oak Ridge High School from the 2017 class was named a semifinalist in the Division I, Class 5A Back classification, while 2018 offensive lineman Cade Mays of Knoxville Catholic is a semifinalist in the Division I, 4A Lineman group.
Several other Vol targets such as defensive lineman Emmit Gooden (2016), receiver Amari Rodgers (2016), running back Chase Hayden (2017), linebacker Maleik Gray (2017) and running back Ty Chandler (2017) were also among the semifinalists.
Two finalists from each category will be announced on Nov. 16 with the winners being announced on Nov. 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
