 Defensive Line

Any time you can consistently put pressure on the opposing team’s quarterback, you have to like your chances of success on defense. And although Patrick Towles was only sacked twice (both times by Derek Barnett), the Tennessee defensive front was in his face the whole game causing five hurries. Kahlil McKenzie stepped up big when Kendal Vickers had to leave the game with an injury and Corey Vereen is looking more and more like an SEC defensive end as he added two tackles for loss. Kentucky was still able to run for over 160 yards as a team, but for the most part, this defensive front stood its ground and picked up where it left off against Alabama.
