6. at South Carolina

Jalen Hurd-1-2

South Carolina, as it stands right now, might be more in contention for eighth or ninth on the list as the Gamecocks stumble through the 2015 season. But I’m going to give a program that has won a lot of football games over the past five years the benefit of the doubt that it’ll make a good head coaching hire and will get back to a more competitive state sooner than later. That might be easier said than done, though, with a roster that could lose do-it-all receiver Pharoh Cooper early to the NFL and will be replacing several starting offensive linemen. The quarterback situation should be better, and though UT pulled out the amazing come-from-behind victory in Columbia in 2014, the Vols still aren’t at a point where it’s safe to assume that they can roll into any SEC road game and take care of business.
