Pick 6: SEC Against the Spread — Week 9

[tps_header][/tps_header]

Power T-1

Tennessee (-9) at Kentucky, 7:30 pm ET, SEC Network

Kevin: Tennessee has complete and total ownership of the “Best Worst Team in America” trophy. Kentucky is in the middle of an all too familiar slide as they enter the second half of the season seeking bowl elibility. The Wildcats struggled plenty with Dak Prescott a week ago, and Joshua Dobbs has the potential to just be just as effective as Prescott. The Vols SHOULD win by 20 + points, Tennessee -9.

John: While I do think Kentucky will have their hands full with Joshua Dobbs, I’m nowhere near as confident about this game as Kevin seems to be. Of late, it’s always been a battle in Lexington. In the last four games at Kentucky, Tennessee has a 4.5-point average margin of victory. Just under, mind you, the FIVE overtimes that have gone down since 2007. (’07 was a 4OT affair while Kiffin’s 09 team also needed an extra stanza defeat the Cats. So I think this one could be tighter than Vol Nation would like. HOWEVER, UT won by 13 under Butch Jones in ’13, and I suspect they’ll be up for the cover in this game as well. But it’ll be close. Take Tennessee -9.

Till next week.
