No. 19 Ole Miss (-7.5) at Auburn, Saturday, 12:00 pm ET, ESPN
Kevin: Another set of teams in the West division that are almost entirely unpredictable, and neither is an appealing bet. The Rebel Bears are 1-4 against the spread in their last four road games, whereas Auburn is 0-5 in their last five at home, so no easy choice here either way. I just don’t think that Auburn is good enough to bet on, so Ole Miss -7.5.
John: OKevin’s right. Neither of these teams is an appealing bet. But one thing that is very appealing to me? Their combined 1-9 record ATS makes me come off like Nostradamus over here. My gut tells me that Ole Miss comes to play this weekend. People forget they still control their own destiny and have a lot to play for. But I’m going back to one thing Kevin said: both these teams are almost entirely unpredictable, and in those cases, I tend to like the underdog. Especially a home dog. Plus, it’s so hard to get up for those early games. This one kicks at noon eastern, but 11am for both these teams. Slight nod to Auburn +7.5.
