The Commodores, for now, have escaped the SEC cellar after getting their first SEC win under Derek Mason last week against Missouri. The defense has been serviceable this year, and while the offense still isn’t anything special, the Commodores have at least made some strides in 2015. It’s looking more and more like Mason will get a third year to continue to right the ship in Nashville after a disastrous year one. It’s tough to say exactly where the Commodores will be in 2016, but if they keep making steady progress, perhaps this will be a tougher trip than envisioned at this point. The last four trips to Vandy have either ended in a loss or a win of two scores or less for UT. The Vols haven’t blown the Commodores out at home since 2006 (39-10).
