The last time the Tennessee Volunteers knocked off the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa it was 2003, and it took five overtimes to do it.

And since Nick Saban took over as Head Coach of the Tide in 2007, Alabama hasn’t suffered a single defeat to the Big Orange. In fact, it was 2007 the last time Tennessee played an Alabama team that was ranked worse than its current #8 ranking.

Needless to say, it’s been a rough last decade or so for the Vols in this historic rivalry. And most experts don’t see the the tides changing anytime soon (no pun intended).

However, Tennessee does have a very talented team despite a 3-3 record. Having just defeated Georgia at home and all three losses coming from blown fourth-quarter leads, many people think the Vols are far better than their record states and could possibly give Alabama a surprisingly close game.

But it won’t be easy.
