Missouri (-2.5) at Vanderbilt, Saturday, 4:00 pm, SEC Network
Kevin: This game is going to suck and may God have mercy on your soul if you choose to watch it. As tired of a line as it is now, Vanderbilt really does play some halfway decent defense, as does Missouri and neither team can buy an offensive point. In these instances I pick the team that habitually loses to lose, and vice-versa. The game will be ugly, but Missouri -2.5.
John: Actually betting on this game means you’d bet on any game. I hope you know that. The Tigers have scored an average of 11.75 in their last five games. And that total was helped considerably by their game against South Carolina. In three of those games, they failed to score a single touchdown. In the two other, they scored a total of just two touchdowns. But as Kevin pointed out, it’s not as if Vanderbilt can score, either. What ultimately swayed me was this: given how anemic Mizzou is on offense, Vandy could well win this game by scoring very few points. Home dog that could legitimately win outright? Block out the name, hold you noser, and take Vanderbilt +2.5.
