Overall
The Vols are 3-3. Those three losses should have been wins. 13-point leads for a team as talented as Tennessee should be enough to win, period. Luckily for Tennessee, all of their preseason goals are still in tact. They are still in contention for the SEC East and have a shot at an 8-4 season (or better with a miracle-win in Tuscaloosa). That said, this team is good enough to be 6-0 or 5-1 and ranked in the top-15 nationally. There are a lot of reasons as to why the Vols are 3-3, be it coaching decisions, poor execution, mental mistakes…etc. But the bottom line is that this team’s record doesn’t match its talent.
They have a great opportunity to make some national waves over the second half of the season, but they were a national punchline for most of the first half.
