6. Donnie Corley
Wide Receiver – 2016 Class
6-2, 178 pounds
Wyandotte, Mich. (MLK)
Other top offers
Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Alabama, LSU
Status
Corley visited Tennessee for a Junior Day in the spring and the first Orange Carpet Day during the summer, and the Vols, while competing against many of the top programs in the nation, are certainly in it for him. Butch Jones and the staff are trying to use their Michigan ties to help the Vols in this one. Pulling him away from the Michigan schools or Ohio State will be a tough sell, but with the Vols’ need at receiver, they’re making a strong pitch and have a shot whenever he makes his final choice. Corley is expected to return on Oct. 10 for the UT-Georgia game.

How He Fits
The consensus four-star receiver is racking up honors with invitations to The Opening, The Army All-American Game and The Rivals 5-star Challenge all in the bag already. He’s a complete receiver that has a great feel for the deep ball, but can also make the shorter catches and make defenders miss as he gets up the field.
The Vols have cast a wide net looking for receivers of all shapes and sizes this class. Corley is a a guy who can do a little bit of everything and could see early playing time if he lands in Knoxville.
