Quarterbacks
It was a mixed bag for Joshua Dobbs. He missed some open receivers and made some questionable throws, but he also made some jaw-dropping throws at times and was hurt by untimely drops from his receivers. The most puzzling part of Dobbs’ performance against Arkansas, however, was his rushing numbers – or lack thereof. Against Florida, Dobbs carried the ball 18 times for 136 yards to lead the team. Last night, Dobbs registered just seven yards on seven carries and the lone offensive touchdown on a scramble near the goal line. Butch Jones said after the game that they took what the defense gave them, offensively, but the failure to use Dobbs’ athleticism last night was a head-scratcher.
