Tennessee (-1) at Florida, Saturday, 3:30 pm ET, CBS
Kevin: Jalen Tabor and Treon Harris will be suspended for the Gators on Saturday, which means, for once a backup quarterback will NOT be able to beat the Vols. I am probably too close to this game to make really objective decision, but I just can’t shake the feeling that Butch Jones has derailed his teams confidence with a poor coaching performance against Oklahoma. I want to pick the Vols, but will have to see it to believe it. Florida +1 and take the under 48 as well.
John: This, from the Colonel:
I love my Volunteers this week. I think we have the better talent, especially on the offensive side of the ball, but a wise old man once told me to never bet against streaks. Of course the same old wise man also told me one time that women were to be enjoyed and my wife took offense to that. I don’t know about you, but if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Where I’m going with this one, I don’t know, but I’ll pass on the old wise man’s advice and the game.
While the Colonel will pass, I have no such luxury. I have to play it, and, to me, it’s a no brainer. The Colonel’s wise friend said to never bet against a streak, and I agree. Until UT proves it can beat FL, I simply will not pick them. Not after last year. And the fact that UT’s favored isn’t helping, as I feel this staff prefers the underdog role. As much as I hate it, FL +1 is the play.
