Mississippi State at Auburn (-21), Saturday, 7:30 pm ET, ESPN
Kevin: Auburn has benched Jeremy Johnson in favor of Sean White, and the position change is serving as somewhat of a hail-mary for Guz Malzahn after a gut punch from LSU last week. Mississippi State has their own problems, however, so this game is significant for both teams. The game is being played at Auburn, and the Tigers will be emotionally ready for a win after what i’m sure was a noisy week around their fan base, but i’ll gamble on the young Bulldogs and roll Mississippi State +1.5 and a big road win for Dan Mullen.
John: The Colonel sees this as a coin toss, and I understand why. The advent of Sean White at QB for Auburn adds a interesting wrinkle for sure. It’s either, as KH suggest, a Hail Mary, or, who knows, maybe given the psychology of the team, it’s simply the right and necessary move to try to salvage the season. Either way, I’m betting on the proven quarterback in Dak Prescott. Hail State +1.5
