Special Teams
The Vols were simply awesome in the return game – taking back a kickoff return (Evan Berry) and a punt return (Alvin Kamara) for a touchdown in the same game for the first time since the 1950s. A second long return by Kamara was negated by a penalty – one of the few errors by the special teams on the evening. Trevor Daniel continues to show why he won the punting job, coverage was solid all night and Aaron Medley hit his two field-goal opportunities and all of his extra points. His puzzling, up-and-down performance continues a bit though as he put a couple kickoffs out of bounds. Overall, the special teams – as expected – were a massive advantage for Tennessee.
