Pick 6: SEC Against the Spread — Week 3

[tps_header][/tps_header]

Mark Stoops-1

Florida (-3.5) at Kentucky, Saturday, 7:30 pm ET, SEC Network

Kevin: What a huge week for Mark Stoops, who just ended an incredibly long road loss streak for the Wildcats, and could now win back to back to SEC games(!). Standing in the way of Big Blue glory are the Florida Gators, who narrowly escaped with a 31-24 victory against East Carolina, a program that is better than most probably think. I want to believe that Kentucky can shrug off decades of doom, but I think the Gators win in a heartbreaker at Commonwealth. Florida -3.5.

John: I’m done hating on Kentucky. Aside from Ashley Judd and KY basketball in general, I really don’t have anything against them. And here’s the key to this game: While McElwain wasn’t even around for last year’s fiasco that saw KY get screwed out of a (probable) win in The Swamp. But Stoops was. And he hasn’t forgotten. He’ll have his guys five kinds of fired up for it. Which means this game will mean more to them. Plus, the KY crowd will be five kinds of fired up after the program’s first road win in forever. I’m on Kentucky +3.5.
