Whatever room was available for Cam Sutton against Bowling Green on punt returns was absent against Oklahoma. Tennessee struggled to slow Oklahoma’s gunners all night long, which meant that Cam Sutton had defenders on him as soon as he caught the ball on every return. Tennessee’s punt team, however, turned in a nearly flawless night. Trevor Daniel punted nine times with a 50-yard average and tremendous hangtime, and really kept the field flipped in Tennessee’s favor for most of the night. Aaron Medley was 1-of-2 on field goals, nailing a 19-yarder but pushing a 48-yard attempt wide right. Medley’s kickoffs were consistently high and deep, and kick coverage only allowed 15 yards on the Sooners’ lone return.
