3. NB Malik Foreman
Nickelback has been a concern ever since Rashaan Gaulden went down for the year during camp. Malik Foreman’s debut there had some bumps last Saturday. He got beat on the first drive of the game on a deep ball and struggled to make much of an impact. The Vols turned to true freshman Micah Abernathy at some points, another player who will need to step up if called upon this week. But while UT might be able to hide the nickel a bit more against some power run teams later in the season, Oklahoma is definitely a team that will spread the Vols out and force plenty of nickel, maybe even dime, looks. UT needs more from players like Foreman against a deep and talented group of OU receivers.
