5. RBs Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara
Hurd found some success against the Sooners last year – rushing 14 times for 97 yards. And while it’s not realistic to expect anything like the 399-yard performance on the ground the Vols put on Bowling Green, having an efficient run game will really open everything up for the Vols on Saturday. Oklahoma’s defensive line, which is missing anchor Jordan Phillips from the 2014 team, shouldn’t be as good this year. But the linebackers are athletic, experienced and physical, and will be looking to limit UT’s “thunder and lightning” duo. Pass protection will be crucial as well. An athlete like Eric Striker can’t be regularly blocked by an offensive tackle, so helping out there could be a huge plus for the Vols.
