Friday Top 10: Vols Who Need to Step Up Against OU

9. QB Joshua Dobbs

Joshua Dobbs-1

I’m stating the obvious here, but Dobbs must play well for the Vols to win. After seeing the Bowling Green film, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Oklahoma sell out against the run game, leaving some opportunities for Dobbs to win the game with his arm. OU’s secondary, outside of CB Zack Sanchez, is fairly unproven. His mobility and decision-making will be X factors as well. Oklahoma teed off on the stationary Justin Worley last year. Though UT’s offensive line looks better, OU will still get pressure. Dobbs’ ability to escape it could be the key difference this year. And in what very well could be a one-possession game, Dobbs’ ability to hang onto the ball and make good decisions could be the determining factor on Saturday as well.
