Checking the Film: A Closer Look at Tennessee’s 59-30 Win Over BGSU

2nd Quarter

14:46: Not too egregious, but Jennings got his hands out a little too wide here and drew the flag.

11:41: One of the most bold play calls I’ve ever seen – Bowling Green goes for it on fourth and 3 from its own 13-yard line in the second quarter. Colton Jumper doesn’t get off his block, and the Falcons get the first. You wonder if maybe the Vols relaxed a bit, thinking BGSU was going to call a timeout or just try to draw UT offsides.

11:20 and 11:08: Nothing too complicated here. Emmanuel Moseley gets flat beat on nine routes by Gehrig Dieter. No excuse for that – must get corrected.

6:18: Big play from Reeves-Maybin here. Bowling Green had a chance to take the lead with a touchdown on this drive, but the veteran linebacker gets through and gets the sack to force the stop and preserve the lead.

1:56: Another nice pull from Coleman Thomas here, good patience from Hurd and another score on the ground for the Vols.

:31: Nice ball from Dobbs to Wolf to put the Vols on the board with under a minute left in the half. Wolf’s knee might’ve been down before crossing the goal line, but the Vols will take it.
