Report Card: UT 59, Bowling Green 30

 Overall

That was a long, weird game – there’s no way around it. It was similar to what some expected. The Vols moved the ball with ease and Bowling Green did cause some problems for Tennessee’s defense. But that was all magnified more than expected. Few saw UT piling up almost 400 yards of rushing or the Falcons moving the ball like they did or scoring 30 total points (and it could’ve been more). The suspension to Martinez, the injuries and the lightning delay all certainly played into the strange feel of the opener. But the Vols leave Nashville with more questions than many anticipated. Butch Jones said it best – finding a way to win is always most important, but the Vols better improve and adjust quickly with the Sooners coming to Knoxville next week.
