3. Josh Malone triples his output from last season.
Houston Kress: Speaking of exciting to watch, this year’s squad has a handful of new players who will be just that. In fact, that’s one of the best things about UT football the past few years. The influx of talented players who have been able to contribute from the get. Butch Jones is stocking the cupboard to such an extent that this phenomenon might not exist for too much longer. But it sure does this year. Jauan Jennings looks poised to make the WRs even better than they already are and Alvin Kamara will be a welcome addition to backfield that already features Jalen Hurd. And both those guys will do nothing but make the weapon the Vols have in Joshua Dobbs become even more lethal. Hop over to the other side of the ball and consider what Shy Tuttle, Kahlil McKenzie and Kyle Phillips could bring to an already up-and-coming defensive line and you’ve got a bunch of first year players who should instantly make the Vols a better team.
