1. Alvin Kamara will have more yards from scrimmage than Jalen Hurd.
Reed Carringer: Hurd put up ridiculous numbers (1,120 yards, seven TDs) as a true freshman running behind the worst OL in the league. I firmly expect him to be more efficient this year behind an improved OL, but I don’t expect him to be called upon as often as last season. He was Tennessee’s only healthy back at times last year and arguably got overworked in several games. The coaching staff will manage his touches more this season and Alvin Kamara, who has massive big play ability and is a better pass catcher out of the backfield, will slightly edge Hurd in total production at season’s end. Hurd is in for a great year. He’s still Tennessee’s workhorse and featured back. But Kamara’s versatility will lead to more production.
