2015 Tennessee Football Season Predictions

Cam Sutton-2

 November 28th vs. Vanderbilt

Daniel: As easy as it is to dismiss Vanderbilt, you have to remember that the Commodores had the ball with a chance to tie (or win) on the final possession last year in Nashville against Tennessee. Obviously there were a lot of other factors that played into that such as the rash of injuries the Vols sustained before and during that game. So I can’t predict a 56-0 walkover type of game, though I do think the Vols should win more comfortably this year in Neyland Stadium. We’ll see if Derek Mason and his book of secrets can make the Commodores a tougher out than some are projecting in 2015. Winner: Tennessee

Houston: These are two programs going in opposite directions. Vandy kept it close against a banged up Tennessee squad last year, but I don’t see any scenario that keeps the Commodores closer than 17 points in this game. I have Tennessee needing this game to clinch a trip to Atlanta, and I’m calling for them to get it done in a big way. Neyland will be rocking and the Vols will play inspired football as they win the SEC East for the first time since 2007.  Winner: Vols

Reed: For the second year in a row, Vanderbilt will not win an SEC game. Derek Mason is literally counting on a piece of paper to save his job and propel the Dores to success this fall. The Vols, largely thanks to a slew of injuries, struggled mightily against Vandy last season, but that won’t be the case this year. Thanks to a victory over UGA and Bulldog losses to Auburn and Alabama, the Vols officially clinch an SEC East title with a runaway victory. Winner: Volunteers
