4. The quarterback position is in good hands

Joshua Dobbs-1-3

Joshua Dobbs came out firing this fall, looking like the same player, if not better, than the one who finished 2014 strong and drew a ton of attention over the offseason as one of the rising stars in the SEC. For the first time since 2012, the Vols feel really confident in who their starter will be. But there’s talent behind him too, albeit unproven. Quinten Dormady continues to show a lot of the potential that pushed him into the role of the presumed favorite as the No. 2 quarterback in the spring. Sheriron Jones look good as well. He’s ahead of where Jauan Jennings was at any point in the spring in terms of his mechanics, and he might be able to push Dormady for the backup job. Regardless, UT has talent, depth and options at the quarterback position if anything were to happen to Dobbs.
