10. Missouri isn’t as good on the defensive front
The Tigers have had a seemingly endless supply of defensive linemen that have helped them win the East the past two years. Last year some thought they’d take a step back without Michael Sam and Kony Ealy, but Markus Golden and Shane Ray stepped up in 2014. Those two are gone now, and it’s certainly possible that a couple more will step up, but an unfortunate accident this summer ended the season of talented defensive lineman Harold Brantley.
Freshman Terry Beckner Jr., a five-star recruit, is a guy to watch in new defensive coordinator Barry Odom’s system, which will incorporate more 3-4 elements, but it’s hard to imagine that the Tigers will have the prowess up front that they have the past few years.
