The online sportsbook 5Dimes posted a partial list of college football game lines for the 2015 season on Tuesday, and four of the first five Tennessee games have already been listed – Bowling Green (in Nashville), Oklahoma, at Florida and Arkansas.
Tennessee is favored in all four games listed:
– By 24.5 points against Bowling Green
– By 3 points against Oklahoma
– By 4 points at Florida
– By 1.5 points against Arkansas
The Week 3 home game against Western Carolina is not listed at this time, but that’s a game that the Vols will obviously be significant favorites in regardless of the start of the season.
That means, at least as of now, it’s safe to call Tennessee the favorites in their first five games of the season. A 5-0 start would put the Vols in great position as they head into a tough two-game stretch against Georgia and at Alabama, but still with several extremely winnable games down the stretch against the likes of Vanderbilt, North Texas and Kentucky.
But the 5Dimes overall regular season win over/under total isn’t as favorable for the Vols at seven. That still would be a step forward and the best regular season since 2009 for Tennessee, but would likely fall a touch under the expectations of many fans and some other pundits and sportsbooks.
