Friday Top 10: The SEC Coach Draft

1. Nick Saban

Nick Saban-1

Urban Meyer may be challenging his throne on a national level, but there’s still little debate that Saban is tops in the SEC and he would be my top pick here. His age (63) makes it a debatable pick, but Saban still appears to have plenty of energy and fire left and he could easily coach into the 70s if he chooses.

He’s an almost unfathomable 50-11 in SEC play at Alabama and has four national titles to his name with with several other BCS Bowl/Playoff appearances on his resume as well. Last season’s national semifinal exit was viewed as a disappointment by many ‘Bama fans, but that just shows how far Saban’s brought the program. He could get an expansion team in contention quickly and put it on solid ground for years to come.
