Recruiting is expected to heat up for the Vols this summer as Tennessee looks to fill up a class that may only have about a dozen spots or so left in it.
Tennessee got good news earlier this week when four-star Georgia linebacker Jaleel Laguins announced that the Vols are his No. 2 school heading into summer, behind Georgia, but ahead of many other powerhouse programs.

Here’s a first look at Laguins’ RTI recruiting profile:

Linebacker – 2016 Class
6-3, 218 pounds
Watkinsville, Ga. (Oconee County)

Status
Laguins listed Tennessee as his No. 2 school in May, trailing only Georgia, and ahead of Auburn, Alabama, FSU and Florida and many other schools. Laguins plans to keep his recruitment open, however, until August, so Tennessee has a chance to overtake UGA in that time, or lose ground to others, as the talented linebacker sorts through his options.

How He Fits
Laguins is a fluid linebacker who plays both inside and outside linebacker in high school and glides all over the field – making plays in space, rushing the passer and helping out in coverage.
OLB maybe isn’t an urgent need, but with versatile players Chris Weatherd and Curt Maggitt set to leave after 2015 and Jalen Reeves-Maybin only guaranteed two more seasons, the Vols will be looking to add a couple players who can add some depth there next year. They’d love for Laguins to do just that.
