Kellen Diesch
Offensive Tackle – 2016 Class
6-7, 270 pounds
Trophy Club, Tex. (Byron Nelson)
Other top offers
Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Oregon
Status
The big Texas native has Tennessee in his top five heading into the summer after he enjoyed his visit over the spring. Geography won’t be in UT’s favor in this recruitment, however, as the Vols will have to hold off the rest of his top five – Texas A&M, Arkansas, Baylor and Oklahoma – all of which offer a place closer to home to play.

How He Fits
Extremely versatile athlete who has the frame of a potential offensive tackle, but plays defensive end and tight end in high school.
Anytime a project offensive lineman like him comes up in connection with Tennessee, the first comparison will be Eric Fisher, who Butch Jones recruited at Central Michigan. Fisher played tight end in high school, but Jones recruited him as an offensive tackle, and he eventually grew into one of the best in college football and was the No. 1 overall pick for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft.
It’s way too early to say that Diesch can turn out like that, but the Vols have a strong recruiting pitch to him, and it’s no surprise that he’s listening.
