Freddie Pinder
Wide Receiver – 2016 Class
6-5, 193 pounds
Miami, Fla. (Southridge)
Other top offers
Miami, West Virginia, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, LSU
Status
Pinder named Tennessee as one of the top three schools he was most interested in early in the summer, joining West Virginia and Alabama – which he doesn’t have an offer from yet. Miami, his hometown school, was thought to be the team to beat early in this process, but that relationship seems to have cooled a bit for now. UT is setting itself up in pretty good shape for the lanky prospect, especially if he’s willing to visit during the fall or summer, if indeed he’s a take for the Vols.

How He Fits
Pinder is very much a project who relies on his size and athleticism to go up and get the ball over smaller high school defensive backs. There isn’t a ton of evidence of him running precise routes in his high school scheme, so it’s hard to know how developed he’d be from that standpoint.
But he has natural size that can’t be taught. And it’s not a coincidence that the Vols are targeting several guys who are 6-4 or above with Marquez North and Jason Croom entering their junior season. They’ll need some size on the outside in the coming years.
