4. OT Drew Richmond
Richmond was the icing on top of Tennessee’s already-impressive recruiting class when he flipped from Ole Miss to the Vols at the last minute. The Vols have been searching for more help at offensive tackle for a couple years now, but how long will it take for Richmond to have an impact? That’s the main question.
The Vols, largely out of need, haven’t been shy to start freshmen on the offensive line in recent years. Alabama did it last year too – starting true freshman Cam Robinson at left tackle. So it’s clearly not unheard of. But it’s also not ideal. And the Vols have some options at tackle that might be enough to give Richmond a year or two to develop before he’s asked to play a major role. His upside and talent certainly open at least the possibility of him cracking the starting lineup at some point in 2015, however. And if he doesn’t, he easily could be in the two-deep.
