A Look at UT’s Future NFL Prospects

Cam Sutton-4Tennessee won’t be well-represented in the 2015 NFL Draft that kicks off on Thursday. There, in all likelihood, won’t be any Vols taken in the early rounds. There’s even a chance none could be selected at all.

Cornerback Justin Coleman – projected as a fifth-round pick by NFL.com in this seven-round mock draft, will be UT’s best chance at having a selection. A late-round-to-free agent prospect, Coleman isn’t guaranteed to get picked, leaving at least the possibility of having no Tennessee players drafted – something that hasn’t happened since 1963.

But while this year’s draft will be light on UT flavor, that likely won’t be the case the next few seasons. Tennessee’s overall influx of young talent will soon be in position to think about the NFL – whether that’s after exhausting eligibility with the Vols or declaring early for the NFL Draft.

Here’s a look at some 2016 draft-eligible UT names that could be in the draft discussion this time next year.
