Report Card: Orange and White Game

 Linebackers

Daniel: Nobody really stood out to me other than Jalen Reeves-Maybin, who was his usual solid self, collecting five tackles and a pair of sacks. That was kind of the story of the spring. They have a stud in JRM, but are looking for more help. Jones called the middle linebacker position “wide open” heading into summer. Nobody really stood out there on Saturday, though Gavin Bryant and Dillon Bates made a few plays.  Grade: B

Houston: The only sure bet at linebacker, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, recorded five tackles and two sacks on Saturday and was flying around the field all afternoon. The competition at middle linebacker appears as if it will go all the way until game week in August, but Gavin Bryant and Dillon Bates each made a few plays and showed flashes of their potential on Saturday. Not a lot of highlight plays, but a solid performance.  Grade: B-
