7. Questions at receivers
The Vols have four-and-five star receivers of every shape and size running around, but will a few of them be able to show up, produce and stay healthy regularly?
Potential continues to be the buzzword at this position. And while there have been some flashes over the past couple years from guys like Pig Howard, Marquez North, Von Pearson, Josh Smith, Jason Croom and others, it’s hard to say exactly what you’re going to get from this group on a consistent basis.
Even Howard, who was the most dependable guy they had in 2014, has been drop-prone at some points this spring. Who is the most consistent player they have? Mary around the team would say senior Johnathon Johnson, but his lack of size limits his effectiveness.
This position definitely hangs in the balance of one that could go either way. The potential is certainly there. It must now stay healthy and live up to it.
