6. Youth
Jones has stated that UT, for the second year in a row, could be the youngest team in the nation, or at least among them. I’m not sure if the data backs that up or not, but it certainly will be an overall young roster again in 2015 with just 14 scholarship seniors and 15 scholarship juniors.
It wouldn’t be surprising by the time the depth chart shakes out this fall if close to half the starters are freshmen or sophomores. Young isn’t necessarily bad, but that youth hurt the Vols several times in 2014, and while it should be better in 2015, it still isn’t quite where some of the top programs are right now.
