2. Questions on the O-line
While a few newcomers, and the help of another year of development for the returning players, makes the outlook better for 2015 for this group, there are still big questions for a unit that was perhaps the worst in the SEC last year.
The guard spots are fairly well accounted for with Marcus Jackson and Jashon Robertson, and Kyler Kerbyson seems to have a decent grip on the left tackle spot, but there are certainly questions at center and right tackle. And the group as a whole was overmatched against powerful defensive fronts for the most part last year.
Joshua Dobbs’ emergence in the lineup late in the season helped with that some, and it’s reasonable to assume that his presence as the starter again will continue to help. But this group needs to take a big step overall if the Vols are going to reach the heights that some have predicted them to reach.
