2. Jauan Jennings has huge athletic upside
Jennings isn’t where Dormady is in terms of throwing the football yet. But he’s an incredibly fluid-looking athlete who glides all over the field. He’s made some throws that show promise, so it would be foolish to count him out as a quarterback at this point, especially with his competitive drive. But his athleticism should give UT fans a lot of optimism, regardless of what his future position home is. It’ll be a huge asset at quarterback and it easily looks transferrable to receiver or safety, should the Vols make that move down the line.
Mike DeBord said that he’s going to be somewhat of a project for graduate assistant Nick Sheridan, who is starting with the basics and trying to mold him into an SEC quarterback. How long will that take? Hard to say, and DeBord wasn’t ready to put a timetable on it yet either.
