10. Vols continue to progress towards having “an SEC look”
Going a little more big-picture here. Even with the rash of injuries and guys out this spring, I can’t help but notice that this team continues to take step towards looking the part of an SEC team.
When I watched this team practice right when Jones first arrived, the size and athleticism typical of so many SEC teams simply wasn’t there at several positions. I thought that look improved heading into 2014, and it’s easy to tell that there will be another jump in that regard in 2015. The SEC depth isn’t there at every position. Experience is missing at a few spots as well. Some of the guys that help with “the look” I’m talking about are either wearing slings on the sideline or arriving this summer.
But even through just a few spring practices, it’s noticeable that Tennessee’s roster is clearly reshaping in front of our eyes.
