9. Still shuffling at cornerback

Cam SuttonNumbers weren’t strong at cornerback anyhow coming into the spring and Emmanuel Moseley’s (mono) absence hasn’t helped matters at all. That leaves Cam Sutton, Malik Foreman and Rashaan Gaulden and Devaun Swafford (both working primarily at the nickel) as the only healthy corners available right now.

I get the sense that, in an ideal world, Sutton would play outside with Gaulden, who has great physicality, manning the nickel spot. The other outside spot would be open for competition between Moseley, Foreman and then the newcomers over the summer. But there’s plenty of shuffling going on as well. Sutton is getting looks at the nickel as well as coaches find ways to maximize his skills.

Safety looks to be in pretty good hands with Brian Randolph, LaDarrell McNeil and Todd Kelly Jr., but corner still has pieces of the puzzle that aren’t totally in place yet.
