Defensive Back – 2016 Class
6-2, 200 pounds
Nashville, TN (Father Ryan)

Other top offers
Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida

Status
Williams is one of the top prospects in the state and one of the top targets for the Vols in the 2016 class. Butch Jones has a high percentage of success recruiting in the Midstate area and Williams, though high on Tennessee, will be another test for Jones since he has offers from virtually every top program in the nation.

Williams has been on UT’s campus multiple times, is friends with 2016 commitment Dorian Banks and other UT players/commits and UT is in great shape for him, but this one will be a battle that could drag on.

 How He Fits

Some recruiting services list Williams as a safety, but he plays primarily cornerback in his junior film. He’s versatile for sure, and is also a threat on offense for Father Ryan in one of the best divisions of Tennessee high school football, but his future very well might be at corner at the next level. Tennessee coaches have spoken about the desire for bigger, more physical corners that can match up with the 6-foot-3+ receivers that are becoming more and more common in the SEC. Regardless, Williams will be a big target for the Vols in the 2016 cycle.
