Leeds, Alabama (Leeds H.S.)

Other top offers
Alabama, Auburn, Navy, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky

Status
Marshall already sports offers from in-state powers Alabama and Auburn, but that doesn’t mean that the Vols won’t have a shot in this race. Marshall is a self-proclaimed Vol fan and actually tweeted the phrase “Dreams do come true” when Tennessee first extended him an offer in early March. He has taken unofficial visits to Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn and Vanderbilt over the last year, and was in Knoxville on the weekend of March 7th for Tennessee’s Junior Day. Prior to his visit, Marshall released a top-5 (in no particular order) of Samford, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia Tech and Auburn. And if his tweets following his visit to Knoxville are any indication, then the Vols certainly helped their cause with Marshall on his trip to Rocky Top.

 How He Fits

Tennessee offered TaDarryl Marshall as an athlete, and one look at his film shows you why. He is a dynamic runner with the ball in his hands and has the second-level speed to pull away from pursuing defenders. He has the open-field escapability to elude tacklers from every level of the defense, yet also possesses deceptive toughness to pick up difficult yardage in traffic and deliver the hit to the defenders instead of absorbing it. While he played strictly at quarterback for Leeds High School as a junior, it isn’t hard to see him projecting as a receiver at the next level depending on his school of choice. He is a very talented and versatile player that should only see his stock go up over the next year.
