2. Offensive line
Tennessee returns four out of its five starting offensive linemen, but it’s too early to really write anything in stone for the front five after last year’s group was generally seen as among the worst in the SEC. Development and continuity are buzz words the coaching staff likes to use, so perhaps it will stick with (from L to R) Kyler Kerbyson, Marcus Jackson, Mack Crowder, Jashon Robertson and then have open competition for right tackle.
Perhaps a shake-up, or at least an experimental look at that this spring, could be in order however. Junior college transfer Dontavius Blair, who looks the part as much as anybody on the team, could be in line for some playing time after redshirting last year. The versatile Coleman Thomas could be in play at center or tackle, and players like Brett Kendrick, Dylan Wiesman, Austin Sanders and spring newcomers Jack Jones and Chance Hall will be looking to push for playing time as well.
